Yankees Bring Back Mariano For One More Year

The Yankees were able to come to an agreement with long time closer Mariano Rivera over the weekend.  The deal was for $10 million for one year.  After an injury shorten 2012 season the Yankees are looking forward to getting Mariano back.  Although they do not know what to expect from him once he comes back, the hope that he can return to the closer he was prior to his injury. "Like I've been saying, I didn't want to go out like that," said Rivera, who tore his right anterior cruciate ligament in a May 3 batting practice mishap. "I didn't want that to be the last image. But it wasn't an easy decision, because there's more than just baseball with me." The Yankees are probably glad that they were able to get him back instead of having to go out into the market to pick up a closer for probably more money then they had to pay Mariano.  With the 2013 season right around the corner you can be sure that Mariano is ready to get back out on that mound.

  1. The yankees love to spend money on keeping their talent. I am Phillies fan and just wanted to say I was Mariano went to Philly instead of New York.
