Yankees Bring Back Mariano For One More Year
The Yankees were able to come to an agreement with long time closer Mariano Rivera over the weekend. The deal was for $10 million for one year. After an injury shorten 2012 season the Yankees are looking forward to getting Mariano back. Although they do not know what to expect from him once he comes back, the hope that he can return to the closer he was prior to his injury. "Like I've been saying, I didn't want to go out like that," said Rivera, who tore his right anterior cruciate ligament in a May 3 batting practice mishap. "I didn't want that to be the last image. But it wasn't an easy decision, because there's more than just baseball with me." The Yankees are probably glad that they were able to get him back instead of having to go out into the market to pick up a closer for probably more money then they had to pay Mariano. With the 2013 season right around the corner you can be sure that Mariano is ready to get back out on that mound.

YANKEES 2013 WISH LIST!
The following video is talking about how they need to add a veteran catcher to their team to make it easier to deal with the amount of veterans in their starting rotation. A player they talk about that could be a a impact catcher for the Yankees would be A.J. Pierzynski. They could also go to a group of rookie catchers to carry them through the year. Another topic is their bullpen, they feel that they do not need to add another arm to the bullpen because of the players they have their already. The have Rivera back to close David Robinson to set up, and a good seventh inning guy in Joba.

Yankees Resign Left Hand Pitcher Andy Pettitte
Earlier this week the Yankees were able to come to an agreement with Andy Pettitte. They signed him to a one year $12 million dollar deal. He had an injury shorten year in 2012, and was only able to make 12 regular season starts, with an 2.87 era in 75 1/3 innings pitched. With the addition of Pettitte the Yankees rotation is looking to be, CC Sabathia, Hiroki Kuroda, Andy Pettitte, Phill Hughes, and Ivan Nova. They also have the option of using either David Phelps, or Michael Pineda. This makes the Yankees rotation stronger, and have a veteran leader in Andy Pettitte to help the younger players out. Pettitte was rumored to only want to sign with the Yankees this off season where he has played almost all of his career.
My Subject
My blog is going to be about current news about the New York Yankees. I am going to discuss current trade talks, free agent rumors, current players, and possible contract extentions. I choose this topic because the Yankees are my favorite baseball team, and have a very rich tradition of winning games. I have also been a fan of the team my entire life. My opinion on the Yankees are that they are a world clase organization and business. This is because of the brand recognition that they get from their interlocking N Y.
